HELP!!!! Car Dies!!!

While driving if a hit a moderate bump my car will hesitate if it is in gear. If it is in neutral or the clutch is depressed it will die. Driving on a smooth road there is are no problems. Also the car starts fine. Also there hasn't been any work done to the car lately. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

MY CAR WOULD DO THAT AND I FOUND THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS COMING APART. BUT MY CAR WOULD ALSO HAVE PROBLEMS STARTING. I WOULD LOOK AT THE IGNITION SWITCH FIRST

i agree with 5ohCOUPE that it sounds like the ignition switch. i have a friend with an 87 gt that keeps cutting out and we found that the ignition switch was real touchy. it is a 5 speed so when he would hit second, the keys on his ring would swing and move the switch enought to cut off the engine. only a 9.00 part at autozone, not very much.
