Default Help, car losing spark and dying on me!

OK, I've been chasing this for a while and I'm pretty sure it's the distibutor but i could very well be wrong so......

After building new motor tuner suggested I get A new Dist. as there were some waves in the graph at high RPM's.
So my brother is a mech. and can get rebuilt ford ones for like $80,got one after about aweek it would'nt start after driving it a while (to work or whatever) but after 5mins to 2 hours later it wold start over and over, I always went home and tried it and it'd start.
Traded dist. fine for a month then same thing, 3rd in now been in for about 4-5 months, 2 weeks ago on interstate it died and came back for a couple of seconds twice in five miles, did this agian about 3 days later, otherwise fine.
Today I get about a mile from home and it dies, I pull over wait about 30 mins. and still no FIRE definetley getting fuel, well I say that there could be trash in tank temporaly blocking fuel but guage is always reading right??
My brother comes to pull me home and as we pull into niegborhood it fires, we go to unhook it and it dies, won't start as before, pull on home unhook and it fires???
New coil and TFI module

well i would have said a tfi but u replaced it....if i were u i would put a spark tester and a injector noid on it and when it dies see if ur loosing spark and injector pulse or what....one other thing is the fuel cut off switch int the trunk when they go bad they can act funny too....

No codes, my Brother says I need him and a test light with me next time it dies and he can pin point it, so I hope??
He seems to think we're looking for a bad wire or connection.
(I know nothing about electronics)

On second thought we havn't pulled for any code since this latest dist., we'll try it

No codes came up ( not that relate to problem anyway )
Dude at speed shop says could be wire or connection, ofcourse, or CPU which I doubt because tuner re-flashed and tuned from a stock APL basic program, he also said the module, eventhough new could be overheating and to try misting it with a spray bottle to cool it off and see.... could be it I guess
Somthings getting hot and breaking connection SOMEWHERE!!

somthing is loosing connection ,youre right.
when the 93 warms up is when it ocurs.
i know that when it does it the tachometer is dead
then if you keep turning it over the tach starts working then the car starts, till it acts up again then the same.
talked to a friend and he said replace the distributor with new 1
i will stay in touch till 1 of us figures it out. thanks

I put in the fourth Dis Fri., went to test and tune Sun.,hot and humid suprisingly, went 8.61 best.In 8.60's-8.70's all day finally got trap speed up to 80.5-81.3 mph so most bugs are gone and dyno-tune worth the money, now will the problem persist?????????/

Exclamation Re: Help, car losing spark and dying on me!

Ok ,been awhile but had to get new clutch and business so bad I just got it in, poor me, anyway still same problem only this time it dies right away ( runs maybe 15 secs) then no spark, coil not getting signal.
I got test code 15 (read only memory test failed)?
and 18 continuous (loss of tach input/IDM circuit failure/ SPOUT circuit grounded)

KOER test didn't give any codes that deal with dist. signal, it gave code 21 cooling temp sensor out of range or ECT out of range, but it runs fine so??? (when it's running)

I suspect that code 18 is it, but wires look good anyone had this code or can tell me where to start??

Try this first...Unhook your tach underneath the hood where you have it plugged in, you do have an aftermarket tach right? Try running without it and see if problem persists. If it still does, you need to get a computer that has not been reflashed or tampered with, while ensuring it is specifically for your year and drivetrain. Let us know.

believe it or not I'm one of the last 4 of us without an AM tach, my window switch for the nitrous is tapped into the green wire on TFI harness could that be it?
The cpu is an A9L the dyno guy reflashed it and it ran great at first, i didn't think of trying another one, but that nulls my tune right?
I'm not sure if it's got a chip he custom tuned or reflashed the cpu,I honestly don't know much about dyno tuning but the baseline was like 284 and he got it to 301hp with his laptop??

thanks USMC302

PS for threes days now it won't fire at all...........HELP

Well, car died in july of 2010 after looking for electrical gremlin since engine rebuild in 2007

I finally had it towed to the best ford guy in town, $150 and a new computer later and we're all good!!

Besides getting married and having kids, last sunday was the happiest day of my life!! Right up there with getting the car new, and the first time the new motor fired!!

I have never sprayed the new motor because it's got that chip in it and the tuner told me that he'd have to put another tune for nitrous on the chip and I'd be able to switch back and forth. Although I know that's the best way to get the most out of the gas I couldn't resist pulling the chip out (at first I thought there was no chip, just reprogrammed CPU) retarded timing 3 degrees popped in the 75hp jets and...........

The nitrous solenoid is dead
More to come....
