HELP FAST! KKClutch BUSTED \ stock5.0-1100miles
Ok well i was on my way to mardi gras sat nite and well i was down 1960 in houston and i downshifted to second and BAMMMMM.. my first thought is , what hit the ground. so i drift in the parking lot and cut my car off. then i start it up and it sounds fine then i put it in gear and ease off the clutch and i hear a scratching sound and it doesnt move and i let off the gas and it didnt do anything just kept scratching.
So i get it back home and start riping my car apart again and in 2 hours i had the tranny dropped and pulled the pp and clutch off. B4 i took it off my first thought was maybe i shattered the flywheel or maybe it was slippin cuz i didnt resurface the flywheel. but i pulled it off and i wa slike ok the flywheel is still intact and i grabbed the clutch and held it by the outside of it and the inside where the springs are just turned freely and i inspected it and u can see where it is busted.
I have a stock 5.0 and was told this clutch would hold up to about 400 HP!!
My new questions are why would this had happened this early (1100miles) into the new clutche's life? Also what can i do to prevent it? What other clutches on the market are another choice to consider besides the Centerforce and how does that clutch hold up?
I need a clutch like within the next 2 days. I live in houston if anyone could help please do fast.
