Help! *******' Hatch Won't Open!!
 

I put the key in the hatch, turn it, hear an audible "click" like I always had. But the hatch won't open. Something's sticking in the mechanism, seems like.

Has this happened to you? Any ideas on how to fix it? I don't want to go to the dealer.

Try pushing down on the hatch with your body weight while you are turning ,I had a 86 GT that gave me the same problem!

i had to drill out the rivits on the underside of the hatch by the license plate lights, and take the holder out, and then pull the lock out & unlock it with a big flat screwdriver.
