help on headlight stuff!

ok, i open up my dash, and the headlight switch is rigged w/ a jumper wire, that's why my dash lights were flashing on and off sometimes, so i take it out, and sure it enough, they don't work til i put it back in

so i order a new headlight/fog switch, put it in, SAME FREAKING PROBLEM, i have to rig it just to get parking and dash lights, and i don't get parking lights at all in parking light mode, i have to be in full headlight mode

suggestions?? is it the multifunction switch?

i'm already pissed cuz i got this from stangparts.com and i can't return it cuz its an electrical item

jeez

not sure if this has anything to do with your prob probubly not but on my stang it has the fog light prob..if i have my headlights on with my fog lights also on after about 8 min my fog lights and head lights turn off so only the parking lights are on...now i just dont use the foglights...they say if you keep using them it can burn out your switch for your lights/fog lights and also your turn signal/whiper switch......doing the fog light fix this summer
