Post HELP HELP HELP Stuck in the trunk!

Well i am not rally stuck in the trunk... i am stuck out side of it. I just now bought an 89 mustang gt and the key will not open the trunk and the button in the glove compartment will not make any type of noise or anything.. and i was told that there was a switch on the inside of the trunk that can open it up but i have yet to find it so any help is greatly appreciated.!

You know that you have to have the key in the ignition set to the on position to open the trunk via the button? At least it's like that on the convertible.

ya, your ignition key has to be on for the pop to work... and you know you have two keys, right? one for outside, one for ignition.

That is messed up you guys thinking that i am so dumb as not to know that stuff! DUH i tried all of that before. and to no avail it still wont open... hehe actually my friend came by and opened it all easy then shut it and wont open again..the key wont open it..hell it wont even turn inside the lock so o-well..i will justwd40 the hell outta it

Seems to me, eons ago when I bought my '89 LX new, there was something in the owner's manual about a release cable under the rear mat. Do you have a manual? I would imagine the GT has the same.

If you don't have a manual, e-mail me at shoberb@home.com and I'll try to dig out my manual.

Well thanx for all the help but i just got tired of it and took off the damn lock! 4 little bolts and off it came.. MUHAHAHAHAHAHA - lol - anyway i am going to make my own lock.. thanx all
