Help identifying mystery torque converter
I got a torque converter off ebay a while ago when switching my car to an automatic and I'm pretty sure that the advertised 2000 rpm stall is bogus. What should a 2000 stall feel like?
I did the gas/brake trick and netted a 1000 rpm max before I overpowered the brakes. I think I have enough umph to reach the converter's potential. Interesting...the same fellow is still selling the same converters but he now fesses up to them being 1500-1600 rpm.... Shouldnt my converter have gone to 1500 rpm's then instead of 1000?

Put it back on e-bay and get a nice QUALITY 2600-2800 stall.

So I guess I'm stuck with this converter for a while....
How would I go about flash stalling the converter so I know what I have? I have, I think, about 250-260 hp right now. How much hp does one need to reach the converter's potential? I want the car to start moving around 2000 rpms or so (like I used to do with my t-5) and I cruise at 2400-2500 rpms (my 4.56 gears in the mail will solve that problem). But if I buy a 2400 stall, I still have no guarantee that the car will act properly since I might not have enough power to make the conveter stall where it's supposed to.
