Angry Lost My Job!!!!

Well after 4 1/2 years I am no longer a bartender! The place I have been working for is suffering some financial losses, and the new manager kinda saw me as a threat after being there for so long! (she is sleeping with the owner) So now I have to find a new bar!! It should be no problem to find one, I'm good and fast, and loyal! The job I had before this one I was at for 3 years! In restaurant/bar terms, that's a looong time! But this couldn't come at a worse time. Bills are already piled!! UGGGHHHHH!! Guess I have to take the Stang out for a looong drive! This has not been a good year... lost my dad in January, lost my Grandma in February, Lost my uncle in March, current G/F problems, and now this!!! Now that's a full plate!! Wish me luck!!!!!!!!

Thats too bad, but look at it this way, you'll have a really good year coming up next!

My friend is working in Silicon valley and they just cut 70% at his job, he's pretty sure hes not gonna have work much longer either.

Sorry to hear about that!

Truely I feel your pain, Skyler is right tho' I live out here in the Silicon Valley and the job market is so tight. I've been laid off for two months now and everyday actively looking for a job but it seems employers are either not hiring or being extremely picky, just because they can now that EVERYONE is looking for a job out here. Anyway GOOD LUCK! Let us know how it goes.

IF YOU POUR IT..THEY WILL COME!!!!! seems like everybody is having g/f b/f prolems right now. guess its in the water

Sorry to hear about all that trouble. This year is almost over so I wish you luck. And we're all hear for ya.

And I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a job. People gotta drink, and if they loose there jobs they get depressed and need more to drink.

Good Luck Buddy,

I think employment and unemployment is becoming a big issue nationwide. My uncle from Colorado Springs lost his job with Atmel. They make little chips for cell phones and stuff like that. He had a very good supervising job there but they made large employee cuts and he was one to get the shaft.

Thanks for your support!!!!!!!!!! It means alot.
I got an offer for a good job on Sun and Mon, but that's not quite enough! I have yet to put out an application anywhere yet, though!
I had a great following! I heard from about 30 customers that called me today with their concerns! Pretty cool! Maybe it will all be ok!!!
MustangDani, she was threatened by me, because I was there the longest, and knew everything about everything! I closed the place, ordered, did the alarm, all that stuff. She comes in and does a rotton take over (stabbing her friend and anyone who got in the way in the back, she started as a bartender/waitress about 6 months ago, and now she's manager!!!) and I was the only one left in any position of authority.. Too bad really, the owner will be sorry at this decision!

Oh well!! Thanks again, everyone!

That sucks man. The manager sounds like a real *****. I'm sure that you'll find work. If you already have job offers and you haven't even filled out a application thats a good sign.

Just remember your stang will never leave you. (well except for that cute little Miata down the street )

Damn man, that sucks ***. I know what you mean about the "threat" deal, I was singled out once too. I had more weight with the people than the store manager did, so he conveniently found a way to get rid of me. Almost every single senior full timer at that place was given the boot. Store went from #2 to #26 that year.

Speaks volumes.

Good luck man, btw, kick *** site.

I wonder if the national unemployment rate is rising? Anyone know? And before 9/11 I knew the stock market was having a pretty bad recession....since then I have not paid any attention at all to it....But I remember hearing it was getting a little better though....is it even close to being back to normal though?

Joe, I'm glad you cleared up that "threat" thing. You left me with the impression that your manager was afraid you were sleeping with the owner, and I didn't need to see that image.

Dude, it does suck, but you're in a good spot. No matter what happens, people will always drink and smoke. The two stocks on the Dow Jones that really went up the first day of trading after 9/11 were Phillip Morris and Miller beer. Really. You, my friend, will always be in demand.

That still sucks, though. Want me to kick her *** for you?

Take care,
-Chris
