Help me make this 88 gt handle better
 

I just test drove an 88 GT that I want to buy. It has big 29inch slicks on it and really little tires on the front. When I drove it the steering was really loose and sensitive. I know that I need to pull the slicks off to make this a daily driven car, but what else can i do to tighten this thing up and make it more responsive? I can go with a little wider tire on the front 15X4 rims, and I plan to downsize the big 29 inch tires on the back when i go to street tires. Will this tighten the car up? thanks in advance guys! This car is badass, 418 horses! Hope I can get it like I want it, I've never had one quite this fast.

Yeah getting rid of the slicks will definately help. I had a 78 Mustang II back in the day and had 15x3.5 centerlines on the fron t and I think I ran 175/70 dunlops that were for VW. The thing about those was that they 6 ply. But cornering and braking were still a little touchy and the car only weighed 2900 with my big self in it, they were light cars. I'd at least recomend going to 5 or 6 in wide rim that way you could at 195/70 or even 205/70 with 6in

Depends how far you want to go. Id go with an even set of tires all around or maybe a little difference. something like 235's in the front and 245's in the back. A set of springs and subframe connectors will drastically change how the car handles.

Just remember, a car cant do _everything_ great.

I went with corner-carving and spent a TON of time getting it to corner. Running 275's in all four corners... That, and 425rwhp, it works for me. Wont launch for #$%& at the drag strip, but does just fine on a roadcourse.
