i just replaced the clutch in my 87 5.0 and it was being test driven when all of a sudden it died. It is getting gas, it is turnning over, and the battery is good. We came to the conclusion that is was not getting spark. we tried to get a spark from the coil lead but we could not get any. i even took the coil off of my other 87 5.0 but it still did not work. Checked all wires going in and out of the coil.

Its sounds like your Thick Film Ignition (TFI) module gave out on you. Its a common problem with the distributor mounted models. Its the small box on the side of your distributor with the wires going into it. It may also be the pickup in the distribtor, but the TFI is more likely.
