HELP!!...Quick question!!
I put in a head gasket yesterday, left it over night, and started it up this morning. I started getting a lot of smoke coming from the drivers side(where the gasket was replaced). I did get oil on the headers so I'm thinking that could be part of the reason. I pulled the number five plug and there was smoke coming out of there too. Is that just the gasket breaking in? I'm freaking out here after all that work!! Please..any info would be appreciated!!

Why did you replace the head gascket?
How's the compretion? did you take it out for a spin? So far I'v only rebuilt one engine, and it took 20 minutes at idle before it quit smoking up a storm. |
It quit smoking...thank goodness. I had blown the head gasket so I changed it. Must have been a combination of oil on the headers and the new gasket breaking in. Thanks for the info. though!
