Could be the yoke is a replacement for the alum drive shaft and is a tad smaller in diameter than the original.

That's what I'm thinking...it's a tad smaller??
As for a groove, no. It's only been in the car for about 1,000 miles. I'm wondering if I can swap the old yoke for the new one??
