![]() You could if you wanted to go like 15 miles per hour in overdrive at redline!
Seriously, as an example going from a 2.73 to a 3.73, may car lost 9 mph on the top end (went from 135 to 126 mph) so any torque advantage you might realize from going to such a steep gear would be traded off on the top end. If your mill is stock with stock electronics, it starts going south powerwise above 5500 rpm and then you bump into the rev limiter at 6250! This is all considering tires in the 24 to 26 inch range, if you plan on running a set of 44 inch super diggers in the rear then you might be able to run those 4.88's ![]() |

![]() ya, 4.10 is the highest you want to go if you plan on driving on the street. if you do a lot of street driving, try 3.73

![]() The driveshaft will definately clear up any shaking that comes around after gear intsall. Mine was shaking horribly around 70. I put in the Aluminum DS and it was cured. This is the only advantage of the aluminum driveshaft. Well, besides it weighs a few pounds less.
------------------ 90 GT 150k on the motor never had the valve covers off, 1 5/8" headers, x-pipe, 2chamber flowmaster,fms aluminum ds, 3.55, best time on 245/45/17 2.08 60', 13.906 @ 98.98 |
