HO/Cobra Heads

Vs. a stock 302, what kind of a gain am I looking at with a standard '89 HO block, shaved '94 Cobra heads with Roller rockers, Stock cam, Explorer intake, and Flows?

Thinking about a project.

Thanx!

bigblockcoupe 09-04-2002 05:11 PM

i'd say around 250hp.

I'd have to agree. The 94 Cobra made 240HP (under rated?). The Cobra cam sucked, but the Cobra also had a 65mm TB, 24 lb injectors and a bigger MAF. I'd say 240-250HP

I would say

A complete waste of time and energy, not to mention expense for the work involved

everyone has a different opinion i personally feel anything that makes your car run better is worth the time everybody has different goals for their cars and different budgets i say do it it's not that bad to put on a set of heads.

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. Right now, $400. seems like a good price for 240-250 HP rather than drive the stocker around.

Will be working this weekend.

Thanks again

If your refering to the GT-40 heads, I think they are a good head. as you can see in my profile with the right cam and a good gear you can run deep into the 12's with them. If you tune it right you will have plenty of power for awhile.

I say do it. I have

ported polished and milled E7's
Explorer intake
65mm TB 67mm EGR spacer
Headers, X-pipe , flows and gears.

I went 15.2 @88mph stock @3000ft
I run 13.69@101mph now @3000ft

Obviously I picked up a grip of HP
