Question holley systemax guys.....

I was looking at the holley systemax kit and saw the specs for the cam, 276/280 advertised duration. Would I still have enough vacume to run power brakes, or anything at all?

The kit is worth every penny but, that cam is a pain in the A**, it only pulls 9-10" of hg at idle (1200RPM) just enough to operate the power brakes. It does pull like crazy from 3500-6500 but I think it could be a little better, many think that. I am switching to a Anderson cam this winter since I broke two teeth of my Holley cam gear. It sounds wicked as can be I have met a lot of people that do not think my car belongs on the street due to the lope and idle of the cam. Where is Gibsonia, PA? I am about 30 mins from York.

AB89GT- give Auto Specialties and Performance by Ed in Allison Park a call. One of the guys that works there is currently looking at this same kit for his SN95 cobra. If you call there ask for Ed. I don't have the number on me. Hope this helps. BTW what are you guys running at the strip with this kit?

I went a best of 12.60 @ 108 with a 1.98 60ft in 100 degree weather, the car was running 210 degrees on my Autometer mechanical gauge. I am hoping with a cam swap and a mild port/polish, and port match I'll be in the 11's

Where do you run at, Keystone, Maple Grove, or somewhere else? I always run at Keystone, though I traveled to Englishtown once, I may try Mason Dixon this season as well. My dad is ordering that kit for his 91GT- he is at 13.7 now at 97.9mph, so I know he'll be in the low 12's with the kit, all he has now is gears, exhaust and pulleys.

AB89GT- Thanks, that's about 4 hours away from me or you could come take a look at mine, I'd offer you a ride by my T-5 died And I am pulling the motor apart for a cam swap and a little port and polish work

KillerCanary- Where is Keystone? I hope to run at Maple Grove this year at the Nats in June (23rd-25th), My dad shows his 93 Cobra there and at Carlise he took foirst place at both last year in the modified class, maybe I'll see you there our cars have our banner across the windsheild "RNH PERFORMANCE RACING". I usually race at 75/80 in Monrovis, MD and Mason Dixion in Hagerstown, MD, they are the closes to me. I also try to hit Capitol Raceway in Crofton, MD a couple times a year.

Keystone is about 40 minutes east of Altoona, and about 35 minutes east of pittsburgh. Mason Dixon is about 1.5 -2 hours from me, maybe we can meet up there someday.

Cool

KillerCanary-Sounds great, you can always drop me a e-mail at home and we'll set something up. What about Cecil County is that closer for you? I should have my car apart this weekend and I have to have to be up and running by the end of April begining of May. There is a big car weekend down Ocean City, MD that I plan on making, so I have to have everything back together and my roll bar installed, look out spring here comes the 11's
