Home made Ram Air?
I justed yanked the big spaceship lookin silencer out from behind the airbox. I was thinking that I could make a ram air setup relatively easy. I read somewhere that the scoop could be taken out of the silencer and used in such a way with like a dryer hose. I have no idea what they mean by dryer hose. Anyone else done it this way? I was also thinking maybe could use a pvc pipe or something. Also this is not a mustang so I can't pull the foglamp trick or anything. This is an 87 Lincoln Continental 5.0.
Anyways it seems like a practically free way to get more air. I am fully aware that stuff could fly in and clog it so I would definitely put in a screen or something. Also I would want to make it detachable for rainy days or any other situation like a flood(my place got flooded not to long ago :[) This is also possibly a good time to get a K&N. It may not make any noticeable difference but what the heck. ------------------ Rob meister 89 Mercedes 190E 2.6 87 Lincoln Continental Ex 86 Mercury Cougar |
