Default Hood?

Has anyone bought a hood from Cobra Auto Designs? They used to advertise in the 5.0 and super fords magazine but I haven't seen one of those in a long time. They have good prices, so good I question the quality. Link posted below.

I ws always told to stay away from the cheaper hood manufacturers, you get what you pay for. I have seen negative posts for Design concepts and cincinati composits, don't recall anything negative about cobra auto designs, which there ad still runs in MM&FF I beleive. Of course, you could let us all know and be the ginnie pig....but is it worth it?

I agree and I would be someone else to give cin. composits a huge negative mark! Those hoods suck!!!!!!!!! I had over 10 hours of prep in my hood alone! The thing still looks bad. Get one from Cervini. (A++) You will either spend the money in prep and possiably still look like **** or spend the money on a good hood and have minmal prep work. Your choice either way. A friend of mine spent an extra 150 bucks for the Cervini and saved the 350 in prep work. So you tell me.
Good Luck

I might just be the guinea pig. 420nitro, I like your setup. Do you have a lot of clearance under that 4" hood with that 13 or 14" air cleaner? I want to get the cobra hood (2.5" lift) but I don't know if it will fit for sure. I have a 13" air cleaner. Right now, I am using a little 6" air cleaner to fit my 351 under the stock hood. Of course, it is touching.

Whats going on... I have a 5 inch cowl and and let me tell ya...its close!!!! I will just fit a 1/2 inch N.O.S Big shot plate and that's it!With the plate I have just under 5/16 inch of space. The K/N filter is a 14x3 with a 1.25 drop base. My buddy has a 4 inch from cervini and it just hits, with no NOS plate. So if you dont mind it rubbing the hood and no spray then run a 4 inch hood. Other wise you need to run this big nasty hood. I would like to install coil overs in the front and lower it about an inch for it to look tough!
