Hood-Cowl vs. Cobra R
I am trying to decide what hood to put on. Its between a 2.5'' or 3'' cowl hood or a Cobra R hood. Anybody have pictures of their's? Which one do you prefer. Also anyone had any problems with a bolt-on hood popping up suddenly...happened to my friend twice although it was a hood for a different year car. thanx

I have the cobra R style on mine, click the link for my website for plenty of pictures of it.
I'm the kind of guy that likes change. I used to love the hood, but now I'm ready for something else. I'd like to get rid of the spoiler, and put on a 3" cowl. As well as some 99cobra wheels. But that costs money that I dont have:) |
Very sweet lookin car! I love that hood, i think im going to go with that one. thanx alot

I like the CobraR hood. It's still a cowl hood, just a little more style. Check my website for more pix that my avatar.

IMO i love the "R" hood..but on sn95s''its too curvy for a foxbox unless you are running a kinda roundish body kit
just my opinion |
Make sure whatever one you buy, do not buy a cheap one. I did And I am still paying for it:mad:

I highly suggest Design Concepts. Thats who I got my hood from, and not only was it a good price, it also fits perfectly. I didn't do ANY triming at all, and just blocked it out just to make sure it was flat, although I'm pretty sure we coulda just scuffed and sprayed it.
If you buy a cowl hood, and dont like it, then I'll trade ya:cool: |
I am VERY satisfied with the Harwood hood I got. This hood (no sh*t) is NOT painted, but is factory gel coat. Maybe will bet around to painting it this winter...

Almost all the compliments I get on my car are for my Cervini's Cobra 'R hood or the color.

Darius, I've heard of alot of people having to really trim the Harwood hoods, especially around the headlights. How was the fit on yours?
Wanna trade? black for black :D |
has anybody heard of ageclassic.com....i found a ''r'' hood for $320. Good or bad idea? how much does cervini charge for one?
|
Well i see these hoods for 200 and below From COBRA AUTO DESIGNS that come with a full underside liner and claim there is no cutting trimming, or grinding and not a cheap primer. I guess they would be the cheap ones yours suspossed to stay away from?
Ackbar, where did you get your cheap hood from and what problems did you run into? |
The only cheap-priced company that I've never heard a complaint from is Design Concepts. The reason may be that they are rumored to use Cervini's molds. Just compare the part numbers. Design concepts just adds a "0" to the cervini's number for the same hood.

I love the "R". But it looks better on a sn95. Cowl looks better on a fox
