Hood Flew Up
My friend just bought an 89GT that only has 55K on it. The only thing it was missing was the wiring harness, so I gave him the one I took out of my car. We take the car out for a spin the other night to see how the mods are going to do. It has ported heads, E303, Holley Systemax intake, 70mm throttle body, 24 lb injectors, headers and so on. The car feels strong and we were both impressed. We returned to the garage and was looking at the engine when his g/f showed up. He shut the hood (brand new 3 inch cowl that he had about two days) and we both made sure it was latched good. He started out the road with his girlfriend and got up to about 25mph when the hood flew up. It cracked the hood but demolished the cowl panel. It looks like someone has been jumping up and down on it. That sucks. He and I both bought a set of hood pins yesterday just to make sure that never happens again.

I had a harwood 4 inch cowl, and the same thing happened to me. Totally crushed the cowl panel, it didn't do anything to the hood at all, just put like a board underneath it and pry it up the best you can, that's all you can really do. Now put those pins in!

Same exact thing happened to me two weeks ago! I had the same harwood hood. My hood is pretty flimsy now but I was able to glue the top and bottom pieces together. It's ok now but my new paint job was ruined. I bent the cowl panel back into place witha board and a pry bar. Looks ok. You can get a plastic cowl vent at this site for 69 bucks.

Steeda just delievered my hood pins today. I could not decide weather to get them or not. Put my CC Cobra R SVO on this weekend. I read this and ordered them and they came in today.

My dad and I are fixing the car for my friend. We got the cowl panel pulled back up, just have to finish the body work and paint it. I put pins in my car last night. I put those from APC in it, the ones that flip up and the pin slides through the hole, but it is permanantly attached the piece on the hood. Works great and looks good too. Just have to fix my friends hood then put his in.

The CC hood looks great. I am very happy with it. I will buy from them again if I ever need too. The knocked 50 dollars off the listed price for me when I called. I have no idea why.
