Post hood vents anyone?

Thinking of adding some hood vents to take some hot air out of the hood, but can't see them anywhere.

thanx

same thing crossed my mind? was thinking of the older Pontiac Grand Prix(supercharged) hood vents, they're kind of boxy so they might look alright. **** who knows, its just a thought

Going with a decent size (2.5"+) cowl hood is a great way to vent underhood heat, drop a bit of weight off the front, and look good at the same time. I have a Cervini hood on my 92 and am very happy with it.

exact and correct, if would have in plan a 351 swap then yes. I may even get the hood but hey!, with vents.

As some body told me, the rear of the hood isn't exactly the best place to get air out cause between it and the glass is a high pressure zone and that makes too many turbulence.

The best place is just behind the radiator

The high pressure area can also force cold outside air into the cowl, so its not a bad thing necesarily. I just put a 2.25" on mine, and the heat coming out of the cowl vent went sitting still is amazing. This thing is great for cooling.

Thats a good idea, I'm not big on cowl hoods, i don't like the way they look, and EVERYONE has them. Those subaru vents look pretty good, I've always liked the look of hood vents too.

I don't like cowls all that much either. I'm looking for something to get cool air to my air filter and something to help cool off the engine. I was checking out this for my 83 mustang (carb). http://www.cervinis.com/page2.html
Anyone have any other ideas? I do like that other saburu one, but do they make anything like that for the stang?

about the cervinis hood I've heard they are the best because of their fit, I really don't know if their ram air kit really works.

About the vents, I'm thinking on getting this subaru ones (only if I ca'tn find a hood of a locally made galant that had an excellent ones). I think you won't find ones specially made for the stang. You just have to find one that fit. And get the hood cutted or do it yourself.

customizing your car with vents that aren't specifically made for the stang is what makes it cool, unique, and last but not least functional. be different with the vents

I believe some fox body thunderbirds (turbo coupes i think) had vents in their hood also just in case anyone cares. I saw some member with an '84 stang GT350 anniversary convertible that had thunderbird vents on his stock hood and they looked pretty good.
