Post Torque Converter?

What all does a Torque converter do. and I will be getting a 2500 stall coverter what will this do with my around town driving.

Well, kind of does the same thing as
a clutch - transmits engine power to
the trans. I've got a 2500 stall and
no difference at all around town unless
I get on it off the line, then the higher
stall lets the engine rev up a little
higher before it fully engages - a little
like revving an engine up a little higher
before you let the clutch out - gets you
going quicker. Just get a GOOD QUALITY
name brand converter, the cheapies don't
retain good torque multiplication.
