Post cool cans for fuel

I was looking at my new Summit mag and saw there cool cans. Has anyone used these or heard any good things about them? It would be easy for me to install one because I have the Aeromotive fuel system and the fuel lines would hook up to it with no problem. I would think that it would work good on blower/turbo cars because it would cool the fuel/air charge. I have never seen them at the track or in any of the mustang mags so I am wondering if it would be useless or if no one has tried it yet.

Cool

Myself I've seen alotta drag racers in general at our track running cool cans.

A different situation but for my combo,I'm planning to use a cool can set-up to help cool my Paxton blower as it uses transmission fluid for lubrication.A guy at the Corral runs a set-up like this on his Paxton blown Lincoln and it works great!

Are you talking about using it to cool the trans fluid for you blower, or for the fuel? Do the people that you see at the track say how good it works?

YUP,,the set-up will have it so the transmission fluid will pass through the cool can, then into the blower itself, resulting in the blower running cooler.

The people I've seen at the track here running a cool can with their fuel system, have always said it's a nice set-up.As you said yourself,it would allow for a more cool air/fuel mixture.I'd say go for it myself

Thanks, I think I might give it a try it's only a 100 bucks.

I was thinking of a similar setup to cool the blower a while back but never bid it. I was going to run the oil line that feeds the blower through a oil cooler and mount it in front of the car. It would cool the oil big time because oil dosn't move through the line that fast keeping it in the oil cooler for a long time.

Thumbs up

Sounds like a neat idea you got there!

I know right now when I put my hand on the blower housing after I've been driving around/cruising,the housing is D@mn hot! So when I saw this guy's idea about using a cool can for his Paxton,I knew I wanted to try this myself.

wads56- I posted something on this a while back for my vortech, and because of such a small amount of oil in the feed line, it wouldn't have enough time to cool the oil and it would also mess up the spray pattern that the blower uses to get the oil on the gears. If you want to cool the charge install a intercooler/aftercooler
