![]() How many rpm's should I shift at if my peak horsepower is at 6000 rpm. Do I shift at that rpm or a few hundred over? WHat is the correct method. I have heard it both ways.

![]() Without dyno sheets, its pretty hard to guess, and what comes up is only a guess. The best way is go the strip and practice. On a 3 speed auto the shift points tend to be the same for every gear. Sticks and 4 speed autos sometimes require different points. All it takes is track time, alot of it.

![]() Your shift point should be where it would drop your rpm's down to close to your peak torque point. there a website somewhere that if you know your torque and rpm it's at it can help with picking shift points.
