i think there is a limit to the 5spd being faster than an aod, when you start getting into low 12's high 11's or quicker, i think the aod's are at an advantage, but anything slower than that i think that there is no way that an aod would be even with a 5spd, once you start getting that fast. for someone that is close but not a perfect 5spd driver the cars are just too fast FOR MOST PEOPLE to shift at the same time every time and be consistant, thats another thing when bracket racing the aod's are at an advantage there too they are more consistant, i could be wrong in what i say cause my car only runs 11.98 with the help of "the gas" but thats just my 2 cents
