Default How do i take off the driveshaft?

Okay, quick question. I'm replacing the t-5 in may 89lx and i got the exhaust off, now im on to the dirveshaft. In the rear its the four bolts, no problem, just gotta find the right socket. Coming outta the transmission is where i get lost. There are two sets of "G" clips on the U-joints, do i just pop them out or is there a trick to this? I don't really wanna mess anything up so I'de thought and come here and ask first. Thanks.

on mine, I
unbolt the rear end 4 bolts...and slide it out (toward the back) from the the tranny yoke. the front of the shaft actually is a spline fit inside the tranny shaft

yah, theres no need to remove the u-joint. The yoke just slips into the tailshaft of the tranny.

You'll want to plug it with something though so fluid doesnt spill out. I just put a plastic bag around it and rubber band it on there

The correct socket should be a 12mm 12 point, just incase you were wondering.
