How good is the "King Cobra" clutch kit?

I'm sure some guys have it or have had it , so what do you think? Is any1 running an aluminum flywheel?

I just put mine in about 2 months ago (about 15 miles though) and I think it feels just like the stock clutch. No complaints.

Have had mine in for about a month and a half. I noticed a couple differences right away. There is a LOT less pedal effort required with it and it engages with a lot less pedal travel. It has held up extremly well so far. My 150 shot destroyed my stock disc, haven't tried it with the king cobra yet...

Mine has been in for over 2yrs now and still holding up like new. I don't have a violently quick car, but it spent a year of abuse with Nitto drag radials and around 30 5000rpm launches with slicks. This thing will not die (knock on wood). I have never smelled the clutch yet.

Better late than never department.......

I've had a King Cobra on my '90 LX (with only minor mods) and it's an excellent clutch.
No problems whatsoever and still feels strong after 15,000 miles, some hard launches and many hard shifts. I replaced the original flywheel with a duplicate Ford iron flywheel.

I just stumbled across this thread and thought I would add to it.

I'm still using that same clutch. I'm talking about the one that was already 2yrs old in my previous post. It hasn't seen any slick launches since August, 2000 when I got 8 runs in, but I have since installed drag launch springs and struts and abuse it on a daily basis. The clutch held better than the mainshaft in my tranny. It twisted in half right in front of 3rd gear (looked like a machine cut - it was so perfect).

I have my King Cobra clutch kit sitting in my garage waiting to go in. All of these positive responses have assured me that I have a quality clutch. When I first purchased it, I was worried that I should have bought a Centerforce Dual Friction instead but I think I'll be fine with the King Cobra.

I've heard good about the King Cobra clutch but a little better about the Spec Stage I clutch.

I need a new clutch and am not entirely sure which one I want to go with yet. Is it also suggested to change flywheel when change clutch???

I installed my King Cobra kit about 2 years ago and love it. I also installed a Fidanza Aluminum Flywheel and have had no problems what-so-ever.

I'm running mid 12's on drag radials @ 110 mph with some real hard shifts and she just begs for more.

I think the King Cobra is a great setup.

I am running it on a completely stock motor and it took a little while to get used to because it clamps so well....too good, but only because i don't have any aditional HP. I wonder how it works on a 350-400HP motor......Ford says its rated for 500
