Default How I fixed my leaky steering rack...

My steering rack was leaking like a mo fo from the boots. The smaller end of the corrugated boot was leaking on both sides. I was all ready to go out and buy a new rack, but I figured out something. The metal clamps that hold the boot were not tight enough. I replaced them with the worm type and it has not leaked a drop since.

Those are just dust boots. Fluid should not even be getting in there. All you are doing now is filling up the boots. When the boots fill up you will be leaking out around the tierod links. The mustang racks are notorious for leaking, the best thing to do is just go get a new one(or reman). Sorry man, but I think you are just postponing the inevitable.
