66 Mustang brake swap
I have a 66 Mustang, 289 engine, power steering, and drum brakes. I have found a 74 Ford Maverick with Disk brakes. It looks as if everything matches up except for the placement of the brake line that I think I can move. Do you think the switch will work?
Thanks, Leon |

Yup
It will work. You may need different tie-rod ends (outer) or bushings for the spindles. Rebuild the calipers and get the correct MC and an adjustable proportioning valve and you're set. Be sure the actuating rod from the brake lever can't come out of the MC. I had to make a limiting bracket for my '66 to limit rearward travel in order to insure that the rod could not fall out of the MC.
I got the whole kit with all new parts except for rebuilt calipers and bushed Granada spindles from Jim's Mustang in El Cajon CA. for $600 + shipping. Rev
