![]() I recently bought an 88 LX Convt. with a completly stock 5.0L. Very shortly I will be looking to significantly enhance the car's horsepower. The original engine seems to be running fine (no oil burning or knocking etc.), and I am debating whether or not to modify the existing engine with cam and heads and all the assorted bolt ons. Or I was thinking of going with a short block stroker (331 or 347). I would like to have a strong car capable of running 12's that can be resonably driven on the street during the weekend (not needed to get to and from work). I was looking at some of the DSS short and long blocks. I am not aware of any of the other major players in the stroker game, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on builders. I also saw rotating assemblies, however, I am not sure of the difference between a rotating assy. and a short block. Any of your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

![]() A 347 is not a good suggestion for a street driven car. I would go with the 331 (my 2 cents). I got my 347 short block from FMS.
