Default Any Power from Porting???

I am seriously contemplating getting my edelbrock 6037's ported and polished over the winter, nothing too crazy though because it is a daily driver for half the year, it it worth doing?? My buddy says it will produce the same amount of gain yet again as when I put the heads on originally. What could I expect for gains, or should I just leave the poor heads alone??? I would really like to get rid of a few tenths in the 1/4. I've got the total edelbrock power package except for a bigger mass air meter done to my engine.

Definately worth the price of admission. Heads are the key to making power. If you port them, it'll make more power assuming you're reving the engine high enough to flow the air. Make sure you take them to someone who knows what they're doing. If you don't know what you're doing you could actually hurt the velocity of the airflow. Now all you need is some forced induction to take advantage of your newly ported heads!!
