Question new best ET, 6mph slower?

went to the track today for the first time after my B cam install.

It started out horrible, it was really cold and the track was extremely slippery, couldn't manage better than a 2.2 60ft.

but later in the day when the Nitto drag radials got a little warmer and the track did as well, i finally got a little bit of traction and was actually able to launch it, somewhat.

new et is 13.23 but at only 100mph. Thats 6mph slower than my other best (with the stock cam) which was 13.42@106

Heres the only things I could think of that caused this:
Different track, close to same elevation. (also the temp was almost exactly the same both times)
It was also fairly windy out, but I dont think that would cause me to lose 6mph.

I was shifting at 57-5800 (on autometer tach) on my best run.
Does this sound about right for a stock (ported) headed car with a B303 cam?

I really need to get up to the other track because that was where I ran my other best time. My best time at the track I was at today was 13.76@???, so track-to-track comparisons look pretty good, can't complain about 0.53 seconds faster than the last time I was at this track.

Next time out will have 1.6second 60ft times on slicks, and hopefully no broken parts.

Hey Drew, were you running at IRP today? Last time I saw you run you were pulling the front seat to get a 13.7. I don't have a clue on what would make you loose mph. I heard they were going to go to US 41 in April, are you planning on heading up there then? I want to see what my new combo will run.

yah my best before was the last time at US41, I had ran that 13.42 and wanted to pull out all the stops to see what else it had in it but 2nd gear decided to take a **** so I didn't get any better than that.

Theres a post on the corral from Jeff (kevins brother) saying that they have the track rented for the 20th. Its in the drag racing forum over there. I'm supprised I haven't seen kevin post it here. Maybe he has, I just haven't been in the lounge in a few days.

Anyway, I'm registered to go but something else may be scheduled on the same day.
I really want to go and see what it'll do there, as well as seeing your new setup.

does anyone have any idea why my mph was quite a bit slower?

I'm guessing its mostly being a different track and wind conditions.
Although, I normally run about 101-102 at this track.

I also had my drag radials down to about 13psi, so I'm sure that didn't help my mph one bit

I believe a big part of your slower mph is your tire pressure. My drag radials hook best at 20psi, but I get 1.3 mph more with them at 30psi. I think your pressure might have cost you 1 or 2 mph.

You must be lying anyways....We all know that adding a cam to poted E7's will not add any HP ...I think I am going to try the cam that Yan88gt put in his car.

Nice ET by the way

Well...you said you had a terrible start...did this include tire spin? If you peeled out pretty badly, that could have easily been where the higher MPH came from.

I had about the same 60ft times on the 100 and the 106 runs, so it's not a traction issue

I would guess that running at 2 different tracks is the main reason. Another could be the tire pressure. When I dynoed my car with the ET Streets I had around 13-15 psi in them. I dynoed 295 or so. The the dyno guy aired my tires up to 25 psi and the next pull netted 309 at the wheels.

Frictional losses.
