Post Rearend

Just put 3.73's in. Today I noticed fluid coming out the front. When I drive it and let off I get this awful whining. I checked it and something is loose or broken right behind the driveshaft(near the rearend) just put in new u-joints. I think something is broke. What am I looking at to fix it? Thanks>

i've built a ton of rears (assuming you built
it yourself) you did not crush the crush sleeve enough you have to really crank down on the pinion bearing it takes a ton of effort you will need help or a real heavy duty impact (replace seal first) you can use a monkey wrench and pipe to hold the pinion
and you will need a good socket breaker bar and pipe and a inch lb. torqe wrench you tighten the nut until the torqe wrench reads
(guessing) 20 inchlb for new bearing or 15 for used you read wrench while using to turn
pinion gear. that will set yur preload.
backlash and pinion depth is diffent story
you need som prussia or machinist blue on the gears run pinion forward pattern should be center of gear on both drive and coast sides theres some good sites out there eplaxing that. you may have already ruined
them if not you will if that the case live with the siren till its gone
