Post How's this for a NA 95GT convertible- opinions/suggestions please

I have an extremely heavy 95GT convertible with these mods:

Edelbrocker Performer intake
AFR 165 heads
1.6 RR's
FTI custom cam
75mm MAF
65mm T-body
15/8" shorty headers
offroad X pipe
2.5" SS flow tubes
dynomax welded race magnums
stock tail pipes
pulleys
24lb injectors
190lph pump
adjustable FPR
HD clutch
4.10 gears
subframe connectors
4 point hooker car bar
subframe connectors
Nitto DR's

Stock the car went 15.2 at 90mph. With a few bolt ons like pulleys, gears, and exhaust I went 14.6 at 94.8mph. With the intake, T-body, headers, and nitto's it went 13.8 at 98mph. I just added the heads, cam, and fuel upgrades with the hope or trapping 105mph. With my weight, it would take roughly 350FWHP to achieve this. Well tonight, on my third time out with the car, I did it. Here's my run:

R/T: .549
60': 1.950
330': 5.576
1/8th: 8.563
mph: 82.47
1000: 11.127
1/4: 13.273
mph: 105.09

I was in disbelief when I got my timeslip, but I made two passes tonight, the other resulted in a 13.37 at 105.17mph with a 1.99 60'. I'm really impressed with my car, especially since it is a 95 with the screwed up computer that pulls tons and tons of timing between shifts, and its a heavy convertible. JFYI- to put into perspective the differences between a coupe and convertible, my cousin has a 94GT, stock it went 14.8 at 93mph, so that tells you how much of a disadvantage the convert's weight is! Is there anything else besides a chip that I can do to get a little more? With 38lbs of fuel pressure, I got a lean code and it runs really warm, so when I got to the track I upped the fuel to 41lbs, and shifted at 6000rpms. Last week with shift points of 5500 and 38lbs of fuel I ran a 13.5 at 104.4mph, so it evidently liked the fuel. Anyone else think this is pretty impressive for a stock bottom end 302? Thanks for you opinions.
Paul

Damn its running great. I told you you'd get 105mph out of that thing.

How much compression do you have?

If your shifting up near 6000rpm, I see maybe a RPM upper intake helping you, and playing with your shiftpoints, FP and timing a bit more.

Other than that maybe some good weather, and icing the intake maybe, and larger catback.

I would be really interested to see what a 70mm throttle body would do if you put it on your car. If you get a chance to try that I would really like to see the results.

Not to mention the chip like you say.

After that, get some slicks and get it down into the 12's.

I'd say thats pretty good given that you have the extra weight of the new chassis and the convertable, your at a huge disadvantage.

Thanks guys.
Sky- well you've seen this car since it was a plain and simple PIG with its 15.2 at 90mph stock run, and to what it has progressed to. To answer your questions:
I'm unsure of compression. I could figure it out but haven't had the time. The heads have 60cc combustion chambers and the gaskets are thin- around .037 compressed at 70ftlbs according to Ed Curtis, and the bottom end is stock.
I'd be afraid of loosing more low end torque with a 70mm T-body as below 3000, my car doesn't have much "go" power. I never had to downshift from 5th, no matter what kind of mountain I was climbing, but that is not the case anymore.
I think the chip would do wonders as it would keep my fuel and timing consistent and not let the computer cut the pulse width back when I up the fuel pressure. That and I could remove that dang timing retard between shifts, man is it apparent now- you nail the gas and nothing happens and then the car just starts to go, it sucks!
I'd like to get new tail pipes but with my wedding on the 28th, I won't see them for a while.

I think I will see 106mph in the fall, or now if we have a perfect night. I'd love to get my 60's down into the 1.90-1.89 range, but its gonna take a lot of practice. Last night was only the second time since I put the 4.10's and subframe connectors on it that it went 1.99 or quicker in the 60', actually most of my 60's have been in the 2.02-2.01 range this year, that 1.95 kinda surprised me last night, but man was I happy.

Yeah, Ive really seen your car come around now. It ran good stock. Actually it ran faster than my car did bone stock!! and I had 3.73 gears and flowmasters in my car.

Its beeen what? A good 2 years now I think.
I guess your custom cam is whats keeping it form making low end torque, my E-303 really torques after 2400rpm but it doesnt pull past 5500.

You should dig up old Qkat and tell him how much faster your heavy vert is running than his notch back. I saw his 14.1@101 timeslips in person.

That's good for a heavy vert. With some practice 12's are easy. My car would be a good match against yours.

Best run on street tires (Faulken 245-50-ZR16).

330' 5.651

My car weighs 3477 with me in it plus a 1/4 tank of gas.

Thanks again.

Sky- I haven't seen old QKAT around much anymore. I spend most of my time at unofficial saleenchat site where he used to frequent, but I haven't seen him there much anymore.

VIBRANTREDGT- yeh I think we would have a good run. My car and myself weigh just a hair under 3700lbs. Do you like those scorpion rockers? My dad was looking into them for his 91GT- they are the last piece he needs to get before he can put his systemax on his car.

Anyone know of a website that has a compression calculator?

Sounds like your working those bugs out with that new combo, every post I see it gets faster, good job. The Corral has a compression calc, in the tech section.
