hydraulic cam using solid lifters

I am running the Trick Flow stage III cam which is for hydraulic roller lifters, but I heard that you can use solid rollers if you set the valve lash just right and they won't wear too much faster than a hydraulic. I just don't know what the clearance should be. Any help?

You're taking a chance doing that. the ramp width(lobe) is different from solid roller to hyd roller. I was told by one of the top techs at Comp cam (mark chacon) that basically, if you swap lifters out, you midas well throw away the cam card. If you're set on using the hyd cam, get a set of Crane high rev lifters(anti pump ups) They're around 350 to 400 bucks, but they are THE BEST hyd roller for performance/hi rev. available. I'm shifting in the 6800-7000 rpm range with no problems ==lunati 51018 cam===
