Default Blinker Problems

With the left blinker on, everything works fine. With the right blinker on, both front blinkers blink and the rear binker is fine. Where should I start troubleshooting. I was told that a likely cause could be the actual blinker switch in the steering column.
Thanks for any advice.

That when the right front blinker blinks, so does the left. But only when I have the lever in the right blinker position. They both don't blink when the blinker arm is in the left position. I've traced the wires by hand and see no visible shorts so I'm stumped.

I would first check the ground at the right front lamp, and if it's okay, replace the flasher.

Take care,
-Chris

I was hoping someone would give me another place to start besides the blinker switch in the column. Unfortunately, the only ones I've seen for 69s are over 100 dollars.(NPD, Dallas Mustang, etc.) Thanks I'll start there.

Hello David,
Before you go after a turn signal switch, change the flasher located under the dash, probably not the problem, but it sure is alot easier.
