I bought my mustang back in november the guy told me that it had a new king cobra clutch. Well my car hasnt shifted for sh/t ever since i got it but I kept thinkin the clutch is new so it must be the tranny. I hate the stiff pedal pressure I had with the king cobra so I went ahead and ordered a new ford racing clutch like a month after I bought the car. It has been sitting in my closet ever since. I was thinking hey this friday is the test and tune so why not get my new clutch installed so my car can do its best so yesterday I dropped off my car at the transmission shop they called me a couple of hours later to tell me what they had found I was told that the clutch the pressure plate and the flywheel were in the worst shape that they had ever seen and then told me the outragous price to fix it all needless to say this dude that sold me the car is DEAD! Last friday it rained http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/mad.gif so I did not get to run my car so this friday is the day goin for low 14's..........BTW I put an electric fan off of a 94 thunderbird and man does it work good http://www.mustangworks.com/msgboard/biggrin.gif hopefully I freed up some horsies.

What was the outrageous price? Considering that you already had a new clutch to put in, the most they should have had to do was surface or replace the flywheel. I'm just wondering what they charge for that.

Not for sure how much they charged 5.0 HO but most shops charge around 25 for resurfacing than one needs to by a spacer depending on how much they resurfaced the flywheel and that spacer usually runs anywhere from 5 to 13 dollars.

It is gonna be right at 200 dollars to install the clutch and resurface the fly wheel and they said some sh/t about my quadrant and cable being screwed trust me this is my buddy doing all the work at his shop anywhere else probably really would have stuck it to me.
