I may be able to get Mass air
ok guys my buddy has a 89 5.0 lx 5 spd, with mass air he is willing to trade me the computer because he will be getting rid of it soon. What all do i need to do? Is there any splicing involved in the conversion? I know I need the computer...the mass air and what all consists of the wiring harness for the computer??? Is there anything to worry about? I dont really want to change over but the b-cam and the 70mm tb are killing the sd and when i do the porting and change the rocker arms I know i will be having some problems. First of all the cam could use a little more vaccum for the sd and if i turn the heat on the car has less vaccum and causes it to run better than worse. The computer is allways one step behind the motor. DoI have to change all the wiring over or can i use the stock wiring harness i am looking for the fastest way to do this with no damage!
Thanks guys sorry 88 if all goes good no more sd

Sorry..I had a huge brain fart! You'll also need to switch MAP/BP sensors. I never tried switching a MAF car to SD with utilizing the stock ECM. I guess I would try your ECM in his car, just switch the MAP/BP sensors and I believe the only harness that should be open in the MAF. If my laptop was working I could cross reference the pin outs. I am very curious if this works. PLEASE let me know if all goes good. I think alot of us on here would be interested.
Thanks Murdock |

88, how else can i tune i think by the end of putting these 1.7rr's and port the heads and intake some more it is going to die. I am starting to fit with a massive idle surge with the b cam and some others now that the car is running closed loop. I need to ditch the clutch fan it is killing me.
later I might just get the computer and see if it makes a differance if it doesnt then i will tear it back out.
