Default I want to remove my EGR tube

Have any of you removed your EGR tube that connects from your EGR valve to your passenger side header. Since having my phenolic spacer was put on, my tube keeps on coming loose because I had to make one since the stock one was too short.

Would there be a problem if I just capped off the top and bottom, deleting the tube all together?
