If i dont see 12's im in for a motor build
Ok guys i am feeling that i dont think i will see deep into the tweelves like i wanna see. My question is who makes nice stroker kits for cheap. I was looking into somthing possiable with forged pistons perferbaly under $1500. Could you guys tell me any companys that have good kits for 347 strokers. I wanna be able to hit 11's N/a and i think it can be done with a stroker kit..
thanks by the way i will be building it

There is a crap load of kits out there that are good. One thing that I can add is if you are using the stock block don't let anyone tell you that you HAVE to get a expensive forged crank. A GOOD cast steal crank will hold more power then the stock block will, and even more so if you stay NA. By doing this you can save yourself around 500.00 and up.

I would go with some afr 165's a steeper gear and slicks before I messed with a stroker kit.

You can get in the 11's with a 302 and 373's. A friend of mine with a c-4 car and a stock short block with 4.10's is goin 11.50's. Look at my sig...i went a 12.57 spinning with a head wind and i have an automatic. Thats with the stock maf sensor acting as a restrictor plate and an unported cobra intake. I ordered long tube headers and with tthat alone on a good day (compared to what friends of mine ran the day i ran and what they have run on better conditions since) I should be around a 12.15 or so. Everybody was about 2 tenths slow the day i ran and i was spinning away a good tenth or so. Once i add the RPM 2 intake, 76mm maf senor and some bigger injectors along with a good dyno tune i should be well in the 11's.....hopefully 11.7's or 11.6's. And that is with a N/A 306, 373's and a power robbing automatic. So it can be done without stroking it...know several people who have.
hope this helps,

If you want 11's NA. You dont need a stroker (unless you want one) A friends car is a 89 Coupe, AFR 185 Heads and Performer RPM and I cant remember cam. With his other bolt-ons he is running 11.70@117MPH. If 11's are what you want, I would say sell your top end (heads, intake) and buy a kick *** set of ported heads and intake( My buddies combo is good), get a custom cam, and be on your way.

Right now i have gt40x heads i think i can get into 11's with my current setup i just need to do some porting on the heads and lots of clean up on the casting of my intake manifold and ill be all set. Oh yeah and gears but dont forget the slicks and skinnies. I am going to the track tommarow we'll see what i run
