Default what would cause this?

when i started my car up yesterday the rpm went down to about 50- 100 rpm and sounded like it was about to stall. After about 2 seconds the rpm shot back up and the car ran fine. Also sometimes when i start my car when it is cold it makes a sortof tapping sound right on the start for about 3 seconds and then its fine. What could cause both of these symptoms?

I like an escalator because an escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. There'd never be an escalator out of order sign, only escalator temporarily stairs-sorry for the inconvenience sign.
