Ignition problem?

Recently in this hot weather we are having my car will just die out. It doesnt stall it will just cut off with no warning. It mostly happens in the lower gears or while at idle. When it does happen I have a hard time getting it started. It will start eventually start. What could this be?

I had a coil do the same thing everytime I slowed down for any length of time. I guess the lower air flow thru the enging compartment. I was the secondary windings in the coil.

Did you just replace the coil? Did that fix your problems?

mustangLX92:

If it isn't the coil (which is a quick and easy replacement item) it may be a failing TFI module; also a quick, simple replacement.

When it dies, do the warning lights on the dash come on?

Take care
