Default SVTOA event was a blast, got to drive an 03!

SVTOA was in Indy all weekend at IRP, so I had to make an appearance. They had a dyno session at Kenny Brown's shop on friday and autocrossing at IRP on saturday, but I only made it out to the drag racing on sunday. I didn't run too great (see times in sig) but it was still alot of fun. There were two 2000 Cobra R's, one 1995 R, six 2003 Cobra's and about 2 dozen lightnings. I was the only fox bodied stang there that wasnt a 93 Cobra

There were only about 15people drag racing so iI had plenty of time to make as many runs as I wanted, but the track was too cold to put VHT down and I lowered the pressure in my slicks (to 13.5psi) to try to get as much traction as possible and allthough I did cut a great 60ft time, it was making my car unstable up high and almost hit the wall a few times.

Anway, after some racing I went up to the SVT trailor where they had the new SVT lineup sitting out front and there sat a yellow 03 Cobra. One of the rep's throws me the keys and says lets go for a ride. After I caught my breath, off we went.

It was absoultely amazing. The thing pulled so hard at high RPM's that I hit the rev limiter twice, not knowing that it was spinning that high. I also missed 3rd gear once, and I blame that on the shifter (which is the only thing I dont like about the car). I'm just too used to my abnoxiously loud T-5 car that this was a COMPLETE different experience.

It was SVT's tester car and had 6,800 miles on it, and probably 6000 of them were at WOT. It wasnt broken in properly so I'm sure it was a little slower than some others, but it was still very very quick.

If any of you get the chance to go to one of SVTOA's events, I highly reccomend it. Everyone was extremely nice and there were plenty of nice cars to drool over
