injector problem, question?

Well my heads are on, everything has gone smooth, but today i was cleaning up my intake for install, when i decided to inspect the injectors, i have one different injector the previous owner put there? it is black and blue, and has a different shape also? and where the needle should stick out of the bottom in the runner, the needle is not there???
Also, one of my injectors has small cracks on the tip where the injector sticks in the runner? if that makes any sense, what should i do? Is this a good time to upgrade? i would have to also replace my sample tube in the maf,:( man this is turning into a money pit.......
any suggestions? 24lb er's, or just throw these back in?

I'm guessing that your car has stock 19lb injectors, at least most of them anyway:) . The blue one could be a 24lb unit if it is a Ford or it could be a 19lb'er if it is another brand. Can you find a part # on it? That would help as most autoparts stores should be able to cross reference it.

I would not be too concerned with the light cracking on the "hat" of the other injector. As long as the hat is not real loose, it should be fine. I've run them like that, inspected them many miles later and all was okay.

ok thanx, but what about the blue one? i mean the needle point that sticks out of the tip is'nt there? should i just replace that one? the car ran fine before, i did also notic emy lower intake bolts really loose? maybe that explains my rough idle radical cam idle sound i had, other than that, it burned pretty clean.
any other suggestions?

I'm not sure about the one without the tip; I'd have to see it. But I know what your stock ones look like and I know that some of the later ones did not have one tip, they had four little holes. I just put a set of '97 19 lb Ford injectors into a 91 HO engine and they did not have one tip, but four holes. Does this one have holes like this? If I were you, I'd replace the one "blue" injector. If the car runs good, then all is cool. You can always save your money for new injectors later if you need them - easy to replace.

Thanx a whole lot, man im glad to hear that, im thinking it's just a newer injector, im anxious to get my car back up so i guess i'll throw them on. thanx again.

ps, i'll just replace it if it doesnt look right, or have the 4 holes.
