Injector size & 347 stroker question????
I am interested in doing a 331 or 347 buildup, I will be using Windsor Sr. heads, box upper/truck lower intake, a mild cam and in the fall(if I'm lucky) a supercharger. I currently have a set of 36lb. injectors that I thought would be good for the blower..but if I cannot afford the blower will they be too large for my engine? What would be a good injector size if that is too large?
Also, I've heard that 347's are high maintenence. How often do they need a rebuild with daily driving? Any good words about the coasthigh kit that has the raised oil ring? Should I consider a 331 for streetability? Thanks! |
Besides the heating problem i love my 347..I think those 36lb injectors will be a bit much for ya...I would go with 30's and even if you got a supercharger you could bump up your adj fuel reg. enuogh to hold that...I would also be careful with your cam selection..It takes a good power cam to have these motors to get to their potential. I would have a cam specially ground to fit your motor!

36#ers are good out to about 550 HP. You'll need a 190lph fuel pump or better to support full flow from them. I'd suggest getting 30# injectors and an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. When you add the suppercharger, all you would have to do is bump the pressure up to about 47psi and they will essentially be 36# injectors.
What parts do you have already and what do you still have yet to buy? ------------------ 351W 89 Mustang GT Convertible |
