Which injectors
Ok I have a 90GT(5spd) and already have my 3:73 gears, headers, and offroad H pipe installed and I just ordered a Trick Flow Street heat upper and lower intake and was wondering whats a good injector and fuel pump combo to go with these mods and nothing expensive cause i'm on a budget I was thinkin Ford Racing24# injectors and a walbro 255LPH fuel pump. The injectors are runnin about $230 and the pump is about $130 does this sound good or can someone help me save some money.

...don't forget about a bigger MAF meter calibrated for those 24lbers. Not sure you'll need either of them until a heads/cam swap or power adder install... but they'll be there when you need them for future mods if that's the route you're taking. It's also typical to get a bigger throttle body when you change your intake, something else to consider.
The fuel pump isn't a bad idea, again, if you're planning more serious mods down the road... like a power adder or heads/cam swap. Do you have an adj. fuel press. regulator? ...what other mods do you currently have other than what you've listed? You could get some underdrive pulleys (power and amp variety from March) rather than injectors and pump, which I assume you should be able to get by without, the assumption being based on not knowing what your future plans are for the car. Just some suggestions... |
Ultraflo is right. You can do other stuff that can't help you out more. If you are stuck on the injector idea, I recomend 24lb injectors, the MAF to match it, 190 or a 225 fuel pump, and an adj. fuel regulator. You need to do all four inorder for everything to work properly. I would recomend getting the TB and pullys before the injectors. After you do that, then worry about the injectors. :)

Alright well which TB, Mass Air combination would you recomend. I was thinkin a 77mm Mass air and a 70mm TB. Also will the bigger mass air sensor work with my stock injectors until I can get bigger ones like #19's or #24's.

75 or a 77 MAF would be good. If you have the stock heads, only go as high as a 65mm TB. If you have aftermarket heads, then you can go up to 75mm.

Oh, another thing I forgot to mention. I have a 65mm and a 75mm TB from Edelbrock/BBK. They tend to whisle. Get a FMS (Ford Motor Sports) or another brand. The biggest size FMS has is a 65.

I agree with the other two. You don't need bigger injectors with your combo. You could still use a fuel pressure regulator though. After you do your MAF, TB, Pulleys (if you don't already have them), etc., THEN you could go to bigger injectors if need be. It all depends on what your plans for the car are (i.e. heads/cam, blower)
