Installed Lincoln calipers

I purchased 88 Lincoln VII clipers(73mm phenolic piston), I originally asked for 91 calipers but all the parts stores said they were discontinued???????????ummmmmmmmmm...
well the 88 calipers were $11. and they went on without a hitch and i went a tad further and cut grooves in the pads with a die grinder. they work great except for the pedal travel, they do take about 50% more pedal travel without the upgraded master cylinder. Thats Next!

Where did you buy calipers for $11?
Around here that is unheard of!!!

Discount Auto Parts. Ford Reman $11 each.
It doesn't get better than that. I got to get the master cylinder next, I think its about $15.

I just finished doing the same thing today, but I got the steel piston ones from Advance Auto. They were $21 each. I asked for 91's and they brought up the steel and phenolic ones so I took the steel one. But get this the core charge was $35, the clerk said they must want the old one back pretty bad. Like you I haven't changed the master cylinder yet, but did put on Power Slot rotors.

What's the difference between the lincoln and mustang calipers? I've been looking for an afoordable brake upgrade, this sounds very affordable.

Thanx

THe Lincoln calipers have larger pistons in them and I guess this equates to more skweeeeze on the rotors. It sure makes a difference in braking power is all I know
