Default My RPM Tach

Hey all, I've posted this before but no one really knew so I figured I'd try it again. I bought a '69 Mustang Mach 1 back in October, and it came with the RPM Tach on the hood. I've tried to figure out who put it on? Cause I've only seen one other Mustang with it, and it says Ford right on it. And I bought this Print of '69 Mustang Mach I, and it had this tach on it so that's lead me to try to figure out what is with the tach.
Do you know if they came straight from Ford like that and if so how many had the option?

Here are some pics of it at this site.

Thank You,
§am.

Yeh it is very, everyone that see's it loves it. My dad was talking to the guy we buy parts from and he was saying it goes for about $1000US for the part alone and I think he even said it isn't easy to get them.

whoa buddy, that thing is MUCHO expensive and rare to boot. My neighbor is redoning a 70 fastback and was talking about them one day. I'll ask him some more about it when he gets home from work this afternoon.

HOLD ON TO THAT SUCKER!!!

I believe that it was a factory option. I have only seen one other like it. I personally like it and I would definitley leave it on the car. I noticed from the pictures you have the same problem I have with the rear edge of the hood being alot higher than it should be when it's closed. I couldn't ever get it adjusted so I just did away with the springs.

Wow I've posted this question so many times and no one could ever help me but it's starting to come around. SWEETNESS! Yeh I figured it was rare never seeing it.
And yes my whole front end has to be realigned, but that will happen when it's painted, everything is shifted over a 1/4 of an inch, I noticed if I turn my wheel real sharp it rubs agaist the inner fender wall and there only 14/205's on it. And as for the hood I was told that I can just cut the springs and put them back on and it should fit. The car is being restored so I'm not overly worried about it right now.

And thanks tireburner if ya could get any infor on it. I don't even really know what to call it as if I was to research it on the web.

Thanks a ton guys,
§am.
