Installing transmission filter

How hard/simple is it to change the tranny filter on a C-4?
Is it as as simple as dropping the pan and popping in the new filter and gasket?
I'm getting putting the final touches on my new engine installation and getting ready to fire her up soon!! I figured before I fill up the tranny with new fluid, I may as well change the filter......huh?

Yep, thats pretty much it. How bad does the fluid look? If its pretty bad I'd flush the convertor as best as you can.

There is no fluid in it all right now because I just installed the new engine a few weeks ago. I'm just finishing up the little odds & ends before I start it up for the first time. The converter is new also.
I guess it wouldn't be a bad idea. It's probably the best time to do it actually.

If your convertor is new, it shouldnt need flushed. Put some fluid in it before you install it, how much depends on the convertor. Could be 1 to 3 quarts approximately.
