Talking Intake and head advice

I just bought a 92 GT. My other stangs have been carburated, so I need some advice. This will be strictly a treet car and must pass emissions. I was thinking GT40 or GT40p heads, cobra or tfs intake MAC or FMS 65mm throttle body, C&L 73mm mass air, and Mac fenderwell intake, propably an e or f cam. Any thoughts or ideas on this setup. I'm looking for a good steet power package without breaking the bank.

Sounds like a tight combo. I'd go with world products Windsor JR. head. It's smog legal and flows superior to the GT 40 line up. I believe the F-cam is not smog legal and has a decent thump at idle. The E-cam would be a better choice. Since you've removed the two most restrictive things on a stock 5.0, the heads/intake, your combo's going to make some power. I'd guess about 310-330 hp. Get it dialed in and you're going to fly!! Make sure you get your exhaust opened up with headers and high flow cats.

I have to disagree, gt-40 heads are good heads in there own right, where as the Windsor Jr's might out flow them, you can get a set of gt-40 heads for around 600 bucks new, and gt-40p's for around 700, the only difference between the 2 is a slightly smaller exhaust valve in the p heads. Everything else you are planning is good. If you look in my sig, i am planning similar things, but i would either go with a E303, or B303 cam, i know the e303 is really mild cam, but will definatley let you pass emissions, the B303 is more for mid range power and is still emissions legal. And if you go cobra intake, and gt-40 irons, they too are also better for mid range power... i have seen such a combo run 12.6 with traction and weld wheels...

'93 Gt, Stock as a rock, but plan an AOD to T-5z swap, steeda tri-ax shifter, 3.73's, cobra intake, gt-40 irons, e303 cam, 1.7 rr's, bbk headers, off road h-pipe, flowmasters cat back, msd ignition, blaster coil, mac cold air box (fenderwell), eibach springs, silver cobra r's, etc...

The GT40P heads will whoop the GT40 Irons in low, mid, and hold right equal with them under high lift.

There are a ton of differences between the P and the standard GT40 heads. Different exhaust valve, revised port designs, combustion chambers, nearly non existant thermactor bump. It all makes the P a hell of a lot better.

Onto the price. If you can't find a set of GT40p's for around $400 you're crazy. $700 is WAY too much for a set of iron heads IMHO. With a little shopping you can find a set of TFS aluminums for around $1000 right now.

The Windsor Jr's are unimpressive as far as their low and mid lift flow numbers if you ask me. They are very linear in their increases.
