96 to 99 intake manifold swap?

Does anyone know if this is something that can be done without too much trouble? I'm getting ready to buy a new 99 intake manifold, cheap, to replace mine. I was told that it will give me more horsepower because it was redesigned for the 99/00 model, generating more hp. Does anyone know if this is in fact true?

I dont know if it will fit but I do know it was changed slightly for the 99's.I dont know how much it will help you because most of the 99's added HP came from the redesigned heads.They are supposed to be very similar to the SVO heads.

The FRPP parts are based on the the fit of '96-98 heads, but are based on the tumble port design (a la 99-00). As such the '96-'98, SVO(FRPP) heads won't fit with a '99-'00 intake. And vise-versa.

In short, I don't think a '99 intake will fit your heads.
